PREDATOR Killer of Killers (2025) Breakdown, Credits Scene & Review
Last Updated on June 10, 2025 by Movie Revew TV
Welcome to Our Movie Review! In this post, we delve into “Predator: Killer of Killers,” the newest animated addition to the Predator series. While some might boldly claim it’s the best yet—spoiler alert: it’s important to note that it doesn’t quite eclipse the original. Nevertheless, it’s a visually stunning film created with Unreal Engine 5 that stands out in the franchise.
A Fresh Take on the Predator Saga
Directed by Dan Tractenberg, who previously worked on “Prey,” “Killer of Killers” is an anthology film that follows three warriors from different historical periods as they encounter a Predator. This project was a covert effort by Tractenberg since 2024, meant to precede “Predator: Badlands.” We’ve dissected the trailer for our viewers, offering insights into this film’s potential direction for the series.
The Opening Sequence
The film begins with a passage from the UT codec: “Go forth amongst the stars and seek only the strongest prey. They shall be your trophy. Become the killer of killers.” This echoes the memorable scene from “Prey” where the Predator spares Naru, viewing her as unworthy prey, reinforcing a fundamental aspect of the Yautja code. The Predator’s iconic scout ship from the inaugural film also makes an appearance, paying homage to the franchise’s origins.
The Stories of Shield, Sword, and Bullet
The anthology is composed of three distinct narratives: “The Shield,” “The Sword,” and “The Bullet.”
The Shield
Set in 841 AD during the Viking era, this story follows Ursa, a woman on a mission to avenge her father’s death at the hands of Zoran. Drawing inspiration from Norse legends like Beowulf, the tale explores themes of honor and vengeance, drawing parallels between Viking and Predator cultures.
The Sword
Jumping to the year 6009 in Japan, two young warriors are trained by a samurai master. After a betrayal, one becomes a samurai, while the other turns into a vengeful ninja. Their eventual confrontation is observed by a Predator, who seeks to identify the superior warrior. The stunning animation in this segment highlights themes of honor and betrayal.
The Bullet
In the final story, World War II pilot Johnny Torres encounters a Predator at sea. Inspired by the 1942 Battle of Guadalcanal, the narrative includes aerial dogfights that introduce a fresh dynamic to the series. Torres ultimately outsmarts the Predator, only to be abducted after the war.
Climactic Battle and Future Hints
Following these individual tales, the warriors are united for a climactic challenge in a Predator arena. This sets the stage for a confrontation with the Predator King, who dons a cape made from xenomorph tails and a skull mask. The film hints at future sequels with a cryo chamber filled with recognizable faces, suggesting a larger “Killer of Killers” tournament on the horizon.
Dan Tractenberg has expertly ushered the franchise into a new era, blending elements from the extended universe to enrich the Predators’ history and culture. “Predator: Killer of Killers” leaves me eager for future developments, building bridges between films and setting the stage for an exciting future.
